The Physical TV Company in New York City

The Dance Film Association presents  The Physical TV Company – Karen Pearlman and Richard James Allen from Sydney, Australia – screening excerpts from their award-winning body of work and speaking candidly about process and ideas over the years of their creative partnership.

After the brief story of their own work, Richard and Karen will invite other artists working in dance on screen to share their stories, and will offer their insights from their substantial experience as mentors, teachers, creative producers and editors.

A screening of additional dance films from DFA Member’s will take place that evening including:

Desert People
Director: Sarah Dahnke
Desert People is a film about a woman on a solo journey, isolated from civilization, crossing the desert barefoot. (work in progress)

THROB (working title)
Director and Choreographer: Jody Oberfelder, Cinematography and Editing by: Jason Bahling
THROB is inspired by heroics of the heart. The film will also be part of an interactive live art installation. (work in progress)
